Brett Yormark oversees the business enterprise that manages and controls Barclays Center, the Brooklyn Nets, the New York Islanders business operations, NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, LIU Brooklyn Paramount Theatre, and the Nets’ NBA Gatorade League affiliate, the Long Island Nets.
Yormark has oversight for all facets of Barclays Center and the Coliseum, including operations, event programming, sales, and marketing. Having joined the Nets in 2005, Yormark led all aspects of the team’s move to Brooklyn in 2012, including the rebranding that established the Nets as a lifestyle brand. Yormark was also instrumental in facilitating the move of the New York Islanders to Barclays Center in October 2015
Under Yormark’s leadership, BSE has established platforms to secure robust programmingforits venues.Through BROOKLYN BOXING, Barclays Center has hosted more than 150 fights and dozens of world championship bouts. In fortifying Barclays Center as the center of boxing in the country, Yormark was named to the Supreme Council of WBC, having brought professional championship boxing back to the borough for the first time since 1931. BSE has extended this platform to the Coliseum, called BROOKLYN BOXING on Long Island.
In making Barclays Center a must-play for college basketball, Yormark secured agreements to host the First and Second Rounds of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in 2016, the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament in 2017 and 2018, and the upcoming NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional in 2021. The venue hosted the Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship for four consecutive years, which returns to the venue in 2019.
In addition to its sports programming, Yormark oversees the BROOKLYN SHOW and LONG ISLAND SHOW platforms, which bring the hottest names in music to Barclays Center and the Coliseum, including JAY Z, Barbra Streisand, Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, and more. The BROOKLYN FAMILY and LONG ISLAND FAMILY platformshave hostedtop shows, including the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus,Disney on Ice, and the Harlem Globetrotters.
Yormark is a member of the Board of Advisory Directors for both the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center. Alongside Charlie Walk, President of the Republic Group, Yormark co-founded the BSE Advisory Board, which provides strategic guidance and supports development initiatives and unique content opportunities for BSE venues. Yormark is also on the board of the City Parks Foundation, the TJ Martell Foundation, and NYC & Company.
Yormark joined BSE after a successful six-year period with NASCAR, for which he helped build the stock-car racing company into a major sports property.
Yormark is the proud father of Madison and Drake, and is married to Elaina Scotto.
